Race Entries Local entries for the American Cup (800 metres handicap - Youth 9 year to Under 18 on Games Day) and the New Zealand trophy (200 metres handicap) must be handed into the Sports Secretary Sarah Lindsay (tel. 01869 833590) no later than Saturday 13 July. No entries for these events will be accepted on the field on Games Saturday (20 July). Both races are for youths 9 years to under 18 years on Games Day and are confined to Innerleithen, Walkerburn and Traquair.
Raffle Tickets & Games Week ProgrammesGames raffle tickets are now available from various shops around the town or from any committee member. The raffle will be drawn at the Standard Ball on Saturday 13 July. Prizes include vouchers for McDonald Cardrona, Coltman’s, Stobo Castle, Saffron, Luxury Lawns, Go Ape, Tiger Lilly, Number Six Hair Design as well as many other prizes. Tickets will also be on sale alongside the Official Games Week programme
Blue & White BuntingAnyone who would like to purchase Games Week bunting should contact the Treasurer Norman Scott on (01896) 830621. Strings of flags cost £15 each, are of good quality and can be re-used year after year.
Collectors
Volunteers are required to carry blankets for the collections during the Fancy Dress Parade on Thursday July 18 and the Flower Parade on Saturday July 20. Those willing to help are asked to contact Games committee Treasurer Norman Scott on (01896) 830621.
Senior Citizens' Social EveningThe Senior Citizens Evening will be held in the Memorial Hall on Thursday July 11. Tickets are now available at the Post Office free of charge. Entertainment will be provided by St. Ronan’s Future Band, a light supper will be served followed by dancing. A bar will be provided. Those who have already collected tickets are asked to please note the correct date.
Decorated Houses, Shops & BusinessesIt is hoped that as many people as possible will decorate their homes to help brighten the town for its most important week of the year. Anyone who wishes to have their house judged for the Fancy Dress Parade must give their name to the Games secretary Stewart Wilson (phone 870316) no later than 8pm on Wednesday July 17. Shops and businesses will also be judged with prizes on offer and the Games Committee would encourage all local businesses to get involved.

The final meetings will take place on Wednesday 3 July and Wednesday 10 July. Both meetings will be held in the Council Chamber, Memorial Hall at 7.00pm.
